Hope Island

When it comes to finances, alot of us live on "Hope Island". We don't have any real plan. We never learned any financial strategies that made sense and felt right. We hope things work out. We hope good things happen financially. We hope bad things don’t happen financially.

"I lived on "Hope Island" for a long time.  I went to work in the restaurant business. I paid my bills and hoped good things happened and bad things didn’t happen. But as life happened (got married, had kids, changes and promotions in restaurant positions), I realized I didn’t have any kind of real financial plan, structure or foundation that I believed in.

I wasn’t prepared for either a bad situation or a good one. I didn't have a sound plan.  I did not have a purposeful plan structured around building a solid financial foundation for my family.

I realized I never really learned how money works or the best way to design a financial foundation for me and my family. I was never really taught anything in school about finances.  I followed blindly the financial advice I heard from family, friends, tv commercials and even restaurant guests and customers. I was about, putting money in a 401K, racking up credit card debt and figuring out how to get a mortgage for a house. Then let the chips fall as they may.

Out of frustration, uncertainty, and a spirit of "I need more financial control of my life". I took the time and focused on getting a better understanding of how money works. I learned how to put my money in a position so it works for me and not someone else. Taking the time to learn some simple money concepts greatly helped to improve the financial well-being of myself and my family.  I felt a lot better about things. I had clarity and a sense of freedom as I started to make financial decisions with confidence and a purpose.

I am sharing what I learned with the people I loved to work with most, the people who worked in the restaurant industry." - Neil Rossi

Most of us pay interest to the banks for credit cards and mortgages for the ability to use their money under their terms. The money we give them in interest is no longer working for us - its working for them. We're giving someone else control of our money because of decisions we may have made naively.

You work hard and should have control over where your money goes and how you want to use it.

Learn strategies to get a better hold on your money. Control where your money is going and how to direct it to benefit the financial well being of you and your family. Learn to have your own money work for you- not anyone else.

When you have a plan for your money- your goals become crystal clear. You are working for a purpose- not just to pay your bills.

Design your financial peace of mind. This comes from knowing your family's standard of living will be protected while you build a strong financial foundation. A foundation that is structured on knowledge, confidence and the independence of making your own purposeful financial decisions. Break out of the mindset of hoping "it will all work out". Someone on "Hope Island" is not going to take care of it for you. Learn the steps to build the financial success you deserve.
